On 3 June the Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology (INDU) tabled its report following the statutory review of the 2012 Copyright Act. The report follows the Heritage Committee's Shifting Paradigms report, which was welcomed by IPA and Canadian publishers’ associations in May.
At the end of June 2019, IPA’s USA member, the Association of American Publishers, filed comments with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as part of the Commission’s hearings on Competition and Consumer Protection in the 21st Century.

The International Publishers Association (IPA) confirms Dr Jessica Sänger, Director for European and International Affairs at Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels (the German Publishers and Booksellers Association) as the new Chair of the IPA’s Copyright Committee, taking over from the Publishers Association’s William Bowes who has stepped down.
